Dacia sold over 172,000 cars globally in 8 months, between January and August 2008, a 14% increase as compared to the similar period in 2007, Renault Group data show. At the group level, sales increased by 2% which translates into 1.7 million cars.
Of the 172,000 Dacia cars sold in eight months, almost 12,000 were VAN and Pick-up models which represents a 48% increase of the sales of this models. Las month, there were 19,600 Dacia models sold, a 16% increase as compared to the similar month in 2007.
Romania is the seventh market in terms of sales for Group Renault. In the last eight months, there were 61,024 Dacia models sold and 17,014 Renault ones. Dacia's market share is 26.6%
