Editia jubiliara a Festivalului International de Film Documentar se va desfasura la Sibiu, in perioada 26 octombrie – 1 noiembrie. Peste o suta de filme au fost selectate pentru a fi vizionate in cele patru sectiuni ale festivalului: International, Europa, Romania si Student. Cu prilejul celei de-a X-a editii a festivalului international de film documentar Astra Film Festival organizatorii vor marca 20 de ani de documentar romanesc prin programe speciale, care isi propun sa promoveze cele mai noi realizari in domeniu. Regizorii Cristi Puiu si Corneliu Porumboiu vor fi prezenti la Sibiu in cadrul programului 'Regizori ai noului val isi prezinta documentarele lor preferate'.
La sectiunea Romania, filmele lui Alexandru Solomon, Thomas Ciulei, Alexandra Gulea, Tudor Giurgiu intra in concurs cu documentarele lui Marian Crisan (castigatorul Palm D’ or, Cannes Film Festival 2008 pentru cel mai bun scurtmetraj) si cu cele de debut ale Adinei Popescu, Vlad Naumescu & Klara Trencsényi si altii.
