Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu informed the leaders of the parliamentarian parties that the level of the salaries growth they voted is not economically sustainable and that the decision will lead to a major economic crisis, mentioning it is not normal for the Government to accept such measures without knowing which will be the future structure of the cabinet.

Tariceanu initiated the discussion with the political parties' leaders in the Parliament after the Constitutional Court decided that the 50% wage growth the Parliament approved for all teachers is constitutional.

The prime minister agrees that a law is required in order to eliminate the discrepancies between various budgetary categories, but added that applying such a project before the end of the mandate is not beneficial. However, the prime minister intends to obtain a political agreement so that the project will be discussed in the future mandate, whoever would win the elections.

Tariceanu blamed the unions in the budgetary area for the delays in putting up the budget salaries law by not agreeing on the salaries scale.
