A new Medieval Sighisoara Festival edition will take place in Transilvania during July 24-26. The organisers want to take drastic measures against beggars that might upset tourists. "They will be sent far away, but in Sighisoara", the organisers promised on Monday.

President of Sighisoara Touristy Association Adrian Burlacu stated in a press conference on Monday that numerous order forces will be present in the citadel during the three festival days. They will see to beggars being evacuated: "The beggars will come, we can't help it, but we will get them out", Burlacu said.

Only tourists paying the 10 lei ticket will be allowed in the Medieval Fortress, alongside craftsmen and artists. Children enjoy free entrance.

To remove the beggars, but also to keep a pleasant atmosphere, the Medieval Sighisoara Festival will be guarded by gendarmes, police, community police and a private protection company.
