Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu declared on Thursday that Romania must stimulate investments and protect the jobs and the banking system, in order to rise above the economic crisis. The head of Government claims that a plan was put up for maintaining the economic growth and keep the crisis effects under control, and it will be applied in a short time.

"The effects of the international crisis begin to be felt in Romania as well. I don't want us to remain passive and believe that there is no remedy for the crisis. There are some roads we have to walk in protecting the jobs and the banking system and in stimulating investments", said Tariceanu.

Companies will receive 1,000 Euros for each unemployed they hire in 2009, as state aid, Tariceanu added.
