The Social Democrat Party is interested in the way the natural gas price is growing, said the party president, Mircea Geoana. The Opposition leader drew the attention towards the fact that the Government surreptitiously increases the price of natural gas extracted in Romania, along with the price growth of imported gas.
Geoana expressed his concern on the recent announcement made by E.On, according to which the natural gas price will grow 19%, claiming that it represents "defiance addressed to the country in which the group operates". Geoana said that the party became indignant with the dictatorial manner in which private natural gas distribution companies treat the consumers.
"The fact that the E.On Romania head threatened to cut the gas provisioning for 1.3 million consumers in Romania is a defiant attitude towards the country in which he operates", said Geoana.
