1.Dinamo: historic qualification takes the fans in the streets. Slovan - Dinamo 0-3, 8-9 after penalties A dramatic match took place in Liberec (the Czech Republic), where Romanian team Dinamo won its dignity and scored more than goals: the team gave the football club an image they have never had since the Revolution in 1989. Dinamo scored three goals on foreign grass, pushing the games into the penalties, where the Romanians won after the goalkeeper Florin Matache defended the decisive strike. 
2.Sahtior and Mircea Lucescu are first to qualify the Europa League's groups Eliminated from the Champions League by FC Timisoara (A Romanian football team from the West of the country), Sahtior Donetsk qualified in Europa League groups, without problems. The Ukrainian team won against Sivasspor twice, scoring 2-0 and 3-0. Srna played his part, managing to get two penalties, long contested by the Turks.

4.Tennis/ Victor Hanescu, favourite no. 11 for Hamburg: I'm in good shape Victor Hanescu managed to lose two finals in one day. Despite this, he seems to be optimist for the next tours in Hamburg and Gstaad. "I'm in good shape. I will go to Hamburg, then to Gstaad to defend my title," Hanescu said. He advanced two position in the ATP top, ranking 31st after the Stuttgart final.

6.Wimbledon UPDATE Sorana Carstea easily qualified in the 3rd round. Azarenka sent Raluca Olaru home UPDATE Sorana Cirstea qualified in the Grand Slem third round at Wimbledon today, winning two sets against Indian Sania Mirza. Favourite no. 28, Sorana won the first set 6-4 after 40 minutes. The Romanian managed several strikes to which the Indian had no solution.
7.Wimbledon/ Gallovits - Cirstea 5-7 1-6/ Sorana goes to the second round Romanian Sorana Carstea won against Edina Gallovits, score 7-5, 6-1, and qualified into Wimbledon's second women's round, after a matched she started with a very faded tennis. Sorana, Wimbledon's favourite no. 28, came back after she saw herself being led with 4-0 in the first set. She closed the game quickly, so that Edina would not become a problem in the second set. The match lasted for one hour and 16 minutes. 
8.Hanescu makes it into Top 30 ATP/ Olaru is Marseilles champion/ Cirstea defeated Niculescu in Holland Although he lost in the first round in Halle, Victor Hanescu starts this week as ATP no. 29, the best rank in his career. Victor Crivoi went up a position, placing himself as 87th. In the women's competition, Raluca Olaru jumped 18 positions in the WAT top, after winning Marseilles final.
