1.Romania's new EU success: Razvan Nicolescu was elected Administration Council member for European Energy Regulation Agency Romanian Razvan Nicolescu was elected member of the Energy Regulation European Agency Administration Council, with a six-year mandate, in the Wednesday's evening polls where the 27 EU member states' ambassadors voted. Out of the 11 candidates, Nicolescu got most votes, which mans a new success for Romania at the EU level, following Dacian Ciolos getting the portfolio for Agriculture.

3.Eurostat/European Commission: Romania's income tax, among the lowest in the EU The tax Romanians pay is listed among the lowest in the EU, according to an annual Eurostat/ European Commission research - "Taxation trends in the European Union", published on Monday. The state drew 29.4% of the GDP from taxation in 2007, slightly higher than in 2007 - 28.6%, but below the European medium value - 39.8%, according to an EC report.
