1.What the newspapers say: November 30, 2006 The energy-related scandals grow every hour and even ministers seem now to be directly involved, after four of the six persons first involved were arrested for 29 days. A parallel crisis is growing in the construction business where qualified workers are more and more difficult to find. Still, president Basescu is unhappy with the UK restrictions for Romanian workers.
2.Four arrested in energy privatization case The Appeal Court in Bucharest decided after marathon hearings to arrest for 20 days the ministry employees Mihai Donciu and Dorinel Mucea (Economy and IT Ministry, respectively), both charged with treason through unveiling state secrets. Also a 20 days arrest warrant was decided for the international consultants Stamen Stantchev and Vadim Benyatov Don, both accused of espionage in strategic privatizations.
3.Dinamo among first 32 in UEFA Cup Dinamo Bucharest qualified to the next stage in the UEFA Cup after winning in front of Bayern Leverkusen. Niculescu evened the score to 1:1 in the 37th minute, then changed the score in favor of his team in the 75th. After this 2:1, Dinamo is four games away from the cup.
4.EPP refuses Ispir The Parliamentarian group of the European Popular Party declared that they would not support, politically or morally, the Romanian candidate for the EU Accounting Court, Ovidiu Ispir. The EPP spokesman said that Ispir’s interview in the Commission raised severe doubts on his candidature.
5.International press: Romania hosted CIA flights and was “uncooperative” with investigators While Brussels expects the final report on the supposed CIA secret flights from the European Parliament’s Commission, the international press is already filled with rumors. 6.Romanian state demands annulment for Romtelecom privatization consultancy contract The Communication and IT Ministry demanded the investment bank Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) the mutually agreed annulment of the financial consultancy contract signed for the privatization of Romtelecom’s last shares. Romtelecom is the major operator for wired telephony in Romania and has the state as shareholder with 45.99%
7.US to expand visa waiver program to Eastern Europe American president George W. Bush remarked during his visit in Estonia that the United States should make some changes in its visa waiver program, one of the changes being the adding of several new countries to the program.The U.S. Visa Waiver Program (VWP) currently is an agreement with 27 countries that allow citizens of those countries to travel to the United States without the need for a visa, with visits up to 90 days.
8.EP votes for Moscovici report The European Parliament voted on Thursday for the final Pierre Moscovici report on Romania’s accession to the European Union. The document was approved with 542 votes for, 41 against and 27 abstentions.
9.Spanish unions demand restrictions for Romanian workers The main labor union in Spain recommends the authorities in Madrid to postpone two years the free access of Romanians and Bulgarians on the labor market. According to union leaders, the term would enable Romania and Bulgaria to gain a true social and economic progress, the Thursday edition of El Pais reads.

11.4,2 milioane de euro pentru sediul Napolact Conducerea Napolact a desemnat castigatorul licitatiei cu strigare pentru sediul societatii de pe Bulevardul 21 Decembrie 1989. La 580 de euro/mp, fondul de investitii anglo-american Morava a achizitionat spatiile Napolact cu 4,2 milioane de euro.

15.Pregatiri de Revelion Municipalitatea nu a dat inca niciun aviz de comercializare a materialelor pirotehnice. Reglementarile pentru vinzarea si folosirea acestora s-au inasprit, din cauza ca autoritatile vor sa reduca numarul accidentelor.
16.Casa in pericol de prabusire O casa din zona Bulevardului Muncii risca sa se prabuseasca din cauza unor sapaturi executate fara autorizatie pe terenul de linga. Conducerea Primariei clujene a aplicat ieri constructorului o amenda de 1 miliard de lei vechi si a dispus luarea masurilor pentru a impiedica prabusirea cladirii.
17.Atentie, soferi! Vine noul Cod! Amenzi mai mari, legi mai stricte, un sistem nou de penalizare. Toate pentru a scapa de numarul mare de accidente grave de circulatie petrecute pe strazile din Romania. A mai ramas o singura zi pina la intrarea in vigoare a noului cod rutier. De la 1 decembrie, multe dintre contraventiile in trafic se vor transforma in infractiuni.
18.S-a vandut Transgold! Unul dintre cele mai importante evenimente ale saptamanii trecute a fost vanzarea societatii Transgold. Autoritatile judetene au aflat vestea de la Gazeta de Maramures, si in scurt timp, au stabilit ca vor sa-l intalneasca pe cumparator pentru a obtine confirmari si garantii ca se vor face investitii si nu vor fi probleme pe linie de mediu.
19.SOS, monumentele comunei Budesti Biserica medievala de lemn Sarbi-Josani s-a rupt in doua, si se prabuseste. La trei kilometri mai incolo, biserica Budesti-Josani (patrimoniu UNESCO) a ramas, dar exista acuze potrivit carora, bisericii ii lipsesc doua piese de patrimoniu!

Pentru al doilea an consecutiv, a tinut sa-i premieze pe cei care s-au facut remarcati in diferite domenii de activitate (administratie, politica, sport, economie, cultura si social-sanatate), de asemenea „Omul anului” si marele premiu, „O viata pentru Maramures&#8221
