4.Romanian President defends himself live on TV Romanian President Traian Basescu intervened for about an hour in a live TV talk-show on the Antena 3 news channel on Tuesday evening to answer accusations one newspaper brought against him that he had destroyed his Securitate files in the 1989 Revolution.

The document places Romania second after Georgia among countries that have adopted most changes aimed at improving the business environment.
6.Ex-Justice minister resigns from Social Democratic Party Former Justice minister Rodica Stanoiu resigned from the Social Democratic Party -PSD, the main opposition group in Romania, on Wednesday. She announced her decision before the Senate a day after she faced a hearing at the CNSAS, the Romanian body studying the archives of ex-dictator Nicolae Ceausescu’s dreaded secret police, the Securitate, which she is suspected to have collaborated with.
7.Hungary closes door for Romanian and Bulgarian workers Hungarian Labour minister Peter Kiss has announced that his country would use its right to limit the access of Romanian and Bulgarian workers on its market for two years after the two join the Union next year.
8.Romanians sceptical about the former collaborators revelation Almost half of the Romanians believe that the revelation process of the collaborators of the former communist militia, aka Securitate, will not bring “more truth” to their lives, while 36% consider that the society will become cleaner and more honest. 15% had no opinion regarding the effects of the revelation process that began only now, 16 years after the fall of the communism.
