2.Defense minister to call for Romanian troops withdrawal from Iraq The leadership of the National Liberal Party (PNL), a senior member of the governing coalition, decided on Thursday to have party member Teodor Atanasiu, the Defense minister, to call for the withdrawal of Romanian troops from Iraq. Atanasiu will submit the request at the Supreme Defense Council. Minister Atanasiu said some 890 troops would be withdrawn from Iraq as the number of bloody attacks against them becomes worrisome.
3.Worker injured at Mittal steel plant dies One of the three workers who suffered severe burns in an accident at the Mittal steel plant in the Romanian city of Galati on Wednesday has died in hospital, it was announced on Thursday. The man could not survive the extensive burns he had suffered, which covered 95% of the body surface.

5.Roman fights in Western Romania festival The Western Romanian city of Zalau will host a unique event on June 30-July 2 - The Roman Days Festival, depicting the life and culture of ancient Romans. The three-day event in Zalau and the ancient Roman settlement of Porolissum-Moigrad will includes demonstrations of fights with specific Roman weapons, gladiator confrontations, theatre plays, ancient music and dance shows.

7.Romanian law on troops withdrawal from Iraq The Liberal Party-supported proposal to withdraw Romanian troops from Iraq was based on Law 42/2004 related to the participation of armed forces beyond Romanian borders.
