2.Work accident at Mittal Steel plant in Eastern Romania Four workers of the Mittal Steel industrial platform in the Eastern Romanian City of Galati were wounded on Wednesday as they were working on a cooling installation, according to TV reports. The four were hurt, one of them suffering from burns on 90% of body surface, as leaked liquid oxygen fueled a fire that burned their clothes.
3.Top resignation in leading opposition party A leading member of the opposition Social Democratic Party (PSD) announced his resignation from all positions within the party in an intervention in a radio show on Wednesday morning. Cristian Diaconescu, who was Justice minister in the 2000-04 PSD government, said he challenged the possible naming what he calls a „controversial” character as head of the Romanian Court of Accounts.

6.Romanian govt aims at increasing budget deficit to 2.5 GDP The Romanian Finance minister Sebastian Vladescu announced that a proposal of increasing the current state’s budget deficit three fold, from 0.9% to 2.5% of GDP , is now being debated on, following a discussion with the PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu and the Central Bank Governor Mugur Isarescu.
7.Investments, best measure after budget deficit increase The economic analyst George Vulcanescu said for Hotnews.ro that the increase of the budget deficit was possible as Romania had no accord with the IMF, however, it was very important how the money was spent. The analyst warns that if the money is not spent with investments the measure is useless.
8.New case involving former PM Adrian Nastase The former social democratic PM Adrian Nastase is now under the charges of having received undeserved goods in the electoral presidential campaign, according to close sources of the National Anti-Corruption Department (DNA). The former PM Adrian Nastase received electoral promotional materials of more than 26 bln lei from two companies.

The Coface study was presented jointly by Romania and Hungary on the occasion of the Romanian- Hungarian Forum in Cluj Napoca, in mid June.
