1.What the newspapers say: April 11, 2006 President Traian Basescu keeps the front page of the newspapers once again on Tuesday, this time with his youth years’ collaboration with the former Communist secret police the Securitate, as an alleged report of the Defense Ministry (MApN) reveals. The reconciliation of the two DA alliance parties, the Democrats and the Liberals, following a tumultuous weekend of statements against each other, shares the newspapers’ columns with the lustration law that barely passed in the Senate thanks to the solidarity within the governing coalition. Turbid waters in politics seem less alarming compared to the Danube’s high waters that have broken a solid damn and threaten to flood hundreds of households along the riverbank.
2.DA Alliance leaders make peace The leaders of the two parties of the governing D.A. Alliance, the Liberals (PNL) and the Democrats (PD), held a special reunion on Monday evening and decided to drop any reciprocal attacks, and reconcile for the voters that had given them credit until 2008. Additionally, the members that keep criticizing their alliance fellows will be sanctioned.

14.Ciuvica il acuza din nou pe Basescu ca a colaborat cu Securitatea Ciuvica revine cu acte incriminatorii la adresa Presedintelui Basescu dupa ce a pierdut procesul cu acesta in urma unor acuzatii similare, scrie Gandul. Basescu: a fi sau a nu fi colaborator, scrie Jurnalul National. Noile acuzatii la adresa presedintelui apar intr-un moment de conflict major intre Basescu si PNL, scrie Cotidianul. Documentele razboiului Ciuvica-Basescu, titreaza Ziua. In replica, presedintele Basescu a dat un comunicat in care reafirma ca nu a colaborat cu Securitatea.
