Orasul va ramane unit sub suveranitatea noastra", a declarat Netanyahu.

"France: Jerusalem should be capital of two states"

    http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1087483.html

French Foreign Ministry spokesman Frederic Desagneaux said Friday:

    * "In France's eyes, Jerusalem should, within the framework of a negotiated peace deal, become the capital of two states," he said, adding that French President Nicolas Sarkozy had told Israeli lawmakers this in a speech last year.
    * "Actions such as the destruction of Palestinian homes or the transformation of Arab districts risk provoking an escalation in violence. They are unacceptable and contrary to international law," Desagneaux said.
    * "In broad terms, France condemns the ongoing settlement, including in East Jerusalem. We reiterate the need for a freeze on colonization activities, including those linked to natural population growth," he added.

Tel Aviv is the capital of IL (Vineri, 22 mai 2009, 17:49)

Netanyahu: "The world must recognize our sovereignty, as well as the primacy of the Jewish people in the holy sites, as our inalienable right."

No we mustn't. The only country in the world that recognises Jerusalem as Israeli's capital is, wait for it, Israel. The rest of the world acknowledges Tel Aviv as the capital. You can claim that the rest of the world is wrong, but it doesn't make you right.

Palestinian state will not be viable without E Jerusalem as their capital. The Palestinian state, living independently and in peace alongside Israel, is thhe only game in town.

Oh, really Mr. Netanyahu? (Vineri, 22 mai 2009, 17:56)

    Goldstein, in London [anonim]

Another grandiloquent pronouncement that only serves to illustrate how far from reality Netanyahu really is.

With three out of four Israeli's stating that they believe "land for peace" is the best way to bring an end to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, Netanyahu and his followers are terrified that they are becoming irrelevant.

They have a vested interest in maintaining conflict, and are willing to put their own interests before those of the country. Their time is over as the US is finally willing to participate in a meaningful way, and the Quartet are ready to act.

Israel has already signed up for a two-state solution and Netanyahu does not have the support necessary to repudiate agreements made by previous governments, especially at a time when Israel seeks international action with regard to Iran.

I have no idea where you have been since 1967 but let me let you in on a little secret... most Israelis will not agree to give back Jerusalem to the Palestinians and that includes secular Jews. The City of David belongs to the Jews, will stay with the Jews and that is final. Whether you, Obama, or Clinton wish otherwise it will not be.

1.5 Million Palestinian Muslims and Christians live in the West Bank - 10min to 1.5hrs away by car - and they are not allowed access to Jerusalem, a city that some of them were expelled from.

Go to Nablus, Ramallah, Jericho, Bethlehem, Hebron or Gaza and ask people how easy it is to get a travel permit (for whatever reason) to enter the State of Israel. Then, if you dare, go to any small town or village in the West Bank and ask them how easy it is to travel even to their own Palestinian urban centers - a few miles away - in order to go to work, to school, to the doctor or hospital, or to engage in such luxuries as shopping or visiting relatives and friends. You are deluding yourself if you think Israel`s ocupation of the Palestinian Territories is innocuous and user-friendly. It is "friendly" only to the Jews.
